Today is a big day as the teams dedicate their homes to God and they invite the families to dedicate their hearts to Him as well. This is the day for prayer coverage, that the Holy Spirit fills the village and that Satan is far away!
The teams are already victorious! Their homes are complete, they are decorated with verses and beautiful flowers and they have poured Christ’s love into the families they have been working for by playing with the children, smiling, laughing, handing out candy and toys and of course, building the homes. Pray that as Dan and Hermano Jesus presents the gospel to each family, that their hearts will be open and that they will give their lives to the One who loves them so much that He gave His only Son!
The fiesta will begin after the dedications! This village is a very special one that has been on Dan’s heart for a long time. An Ivanrest team went there 4-5 years ago for the medical clinic and Dan’s team of Guatemalan missionaries have continued to go back their for weekly Bible studies. This is an amazing opportunity for our team to live with the villagers and minister to them in a very unique way. Pray them through this day!
Tonight they will be heading back to Chimaltenango, and hopefully they will have internet access, but knowing how Guatemala works, that may be a miracle! I am sure they will let us know something tomorrow, even if Kevin and Nate have to go to an internet cafe. It may not be what we have grown used to over the last few years, but the most important thing is that God’s work is being done! Whether we hear all the details now or when our loved ones get home, doesn’t really matter. What matters is the work that is being done in Guatemala, both for the people there AND for our team members.
Our team is being challenged in great and wonderful ways. My prayer is that their lives will be changed as well. Please pray for Kevin and Dan as they lead. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they guide our team to a deeper relationship with Christ.
Thank you so much for continuing to check out the blog and for posting on the team members sites. Those words will mean so much to your loved one, when they are finally able to read them.
In His Grip!
