Comment by Dawn Hogue June 15, 2008 @ 6:39 amOnly one more day and then we’ll be on our way to Guatemala! I can’t wait to get there again! I know that we might not have access to the internet for the first couple of days, but please continue to write and pray for me and the kids and the team, as we share the love of Jesus with the people we meet! I’m most excited for the decorating of the houses, as I’ve got a lot of really neat things for whatever family I’ll be helping to build for. God knows what the family needs, and I’ve been collecting random things. Pray that those things will be exactly what the people in this house need! I’ve been encouraged so much by family and friends as we have gotten ready to go…keep up the prayers, and hopefully I can share stories with you soon!

We hope and pray your week will go well. Enjoy the experience with your children. I think that is so neat they are there with you. You’ll be in our thoughts and prayers throughout the week.

Hi Brenda –
Comment by Karen Lepine June 18, 2008 @ 5:58 pmI hope you found the extra blankets in the overhead bins last night – those planes are always freezing cold!
Praying that Day#1 was a huge success and you’ve already connected with the people in the village and your “homeowners”. It is so powerful to stand on the foundation before building and pray that you’ll see them again in Heaven…wow!
Praying for a good nights sleep & that you stay strong & healthy. So cool that Casey & Kristina are serving alongside you – you & Jim are incredible parents!
Love you mucho,
Karen
Hi Brenda. We heard you got there a little late. We are paying for you guys a lot and trust that the team will be able to work together and get a lot accomplished. We love you

We’re praying for all of you big time. Say hello to Casey and Kristina.
Brenda:
How exciting that you get to share this awesome experience in Guatemala with Kristina and Casey(my prayer partna’)! I bet the singing during devotions at night is awesome with you there to lead the “choir”. Know that we are praying for you all!

Comment by Sya Vogelzang June 21, 2008 @ 1:34 pmThinking of you today as you head out to the med clinic. I hope many people come to hear the gospel and that many get help for any physical ailments they have, hopefully nothing is serious. I know that you are loving avery moment. When I read about all the houses I could visualize all the gifts you brought for their homes. I am sure that was a awesome experience since they have nothing and are so appreciative. What a blessed Day.
Brenda i hope all is going well with you and the kids. What a cool experience. Want you to know im praying for you this week as you serve Him. Take care, ALAN
Comment by Alan Jurgens June 21, 2008 @ 8:22 pmHi Brenda!!
Had a great evening with Jimbo last night. I don’t think he’d eaten for days so we sent him home full along with some leftovers. Made sure he had a good breakfast this morning too at Panera with Mary M and the TenHarmsels.
You & the team are constantly in my thoughts. I’m praying that all went well at the medical clinic today – health & energy for the team, safe travels, and that many many people are on their way to healing – both physically & spiritually!!
Thank you for your incredible servant heart!!

Wow! We’re sitting here in McDonalds, and I’ve already typed a message that didn’t get through. I’ll try to do it again and hope this works. It’s been an awesome week, full of miracles and Godsightings. La Bendicion was beautiful, and I was able to build for Edilberto and Rosa, a pastor and his wife and their 8 children. 7 boys and one girl at the tail end, that they prayed to have for many years. I talked for many hours with him, and we shared a common bond in Christ. I was able to love on them with two full rubbermaid containers full of stuff, that the kids and I packed into our suitcases. Rosa loved the utensils, the dishtowels and dishes, utensils, spices, lotion, and many other goodies. She loved the lilacs on the wallpaper border. I was told that those flowers are huge at the coast. The kids loved the knives, stuffed animals, bible story books and matchbox cars from Casey, as well as a pair of drumsticks, that he showed them how to use. I miss the family already, and am so happy that I’ll be able to see them again on the other side. What an awesome thing! I’m so proud of Casey and Kristina, and it’s so cool to be here with them both. Jim and Kara, can’t wait to smother you with hugs and kisses. Kirk, thanks for being my prayer partner. Even though we couldn’t get to the internet until today, I knew you were pulling for me and lifting us all up in prayer. Mom and Dad, you’ve prepared the way for us to come here in so many ways….thank you! Thank you all for your prayers and words of encouragement! See you soon!
